Virginia Tech 150th Aniversary
In celebration of Virginia Tech's sesquicentennial ICAT was asked to lead the design, development and execution of the seminal celebration for the Corp of Cadets. This was to be an event not only celebrating the anniversary but also the return of hosting events in public spaces on campus. ICAT conceived of and pitched a projection experience for Lane Hall, one of the oldest still standing buildings on campus and the original Barracks #1 for the Corp of Cadets. The linear media experience explored the history of the corp through historical and original media over a 15 minute run time. Lidar scans were used to create a millimeter accurate digital twin of the building and 3D print scale models of early testing and development. The narrative ark explored stories and people through the seven pylons found at the War Memorial Chapel (Brotherhood, Honor, Leadership, Sacrifice, Service, Loyalty, Duty, and Ut Prosim)
